1. What is Exide Life Sanjeevani and how is it unique?

Exide Life Sanjeevani is a fixed benefit health insurance plan that provides comprehensive coverage against Heart and Cancer related conditions. On diagnosis of covered conditions, the benefit is paid to you as a lump sum amount based on the chosen sum assured irrespective of the actual expenses incurred on account of hospitalization.

2. Do I need a separate heart & cancer plan if I already have a health insurance policy?

A health insurance policy will only reimburse your in-hospital expenses. The treatment of heart and cancer illnesses demands huge expenses. Also, a long duration of time is needed for recuperation. With rising medical costs, your expenses do not stop even when you are discharged from the hospital.

The fixed payout from Exide Life Sanjeevani will help you cover any expenses that you may require to make during your illness and recuperation. It provides you wholesome protection by complementing your existing health insurance policy by decreasing your out-of-pocket expenses considerably.

3. I already have an existing Health Insurance policy. Will I be allowed to make a claim under Exide Life Sanjeevani, even if I have claimed under the other health insurance policy?

We will pay you the benefit on diagnosis of covered Heart and Cancer conditions even if you have filed a claim under any existing health insurance policy that you may have.

4. What are the conditions covered under the plan?

Exide Life Sanjeevani provides you comprehensive coverage for Heart and Cancer related conditions. You can choose from two plan options

Option A: Cover for Heart related conditions:A lump sum amount is paid to you on diagnosis of a covered heart related condition.

Option B: Cover for Heart and Cancer related conditions:You can cover yourself against Cancer related conditions in addition to Heart by paying a nominal additional premium. A lump sum amount is paid to you on diagnosis of covered Heart or Cancer related conditions.

The benefit amount is paid under 3 categories
We have classified all covered Heart and Cancer related conditions under 3 categories – Mild, Moderate and Severe. These categories are based on severity of the diagnosed conditions and define the extent of payout made to you as a percentage of your chosen sum assured.

5. If I am diagnosed with Heart and/or a Cancer related condition, how much claim amount will I be paid?

The extent of payout made to you as a percentage of your chosen sum assured depends on the severity of diagnosed conditions. The below table elaborates the detail.

Category Definition of payout
Mild 25% of the chosen sum assured is paid to you on diagnosis. You can claim for a mild condition only once under Plan Option A and twice under Plan Option B (one each from Heart and Cancer conditions).
Moderate 50% of the chosen sum assured is paid to you on diagnosis. Thereafter, Exide Life Insurance will pay premium for next 5 years on your behalf. Multiple claims are allowed under this category and your policy will terminate upon payment of 100% of sum assured.
Severe 100% of the sum assured is paid to you. Amount paid to you prior to diagnosis of a severe condition will be deducted. The policy will terminate on payout.

 

6. If I am diagnosed with a Moderate condition initially and later with a mild condition, will I be able to file a claim under both these conditions?

Yes, you can claim under a moderate category first and under a mild category later. You will be paid 50% of the Sum Assured on diagnosis of a moderate condition. Later if you are diagnosed with a condition under Mild category, 25% of the Sum Assured will be paid to you.

7. Do I get the benefit of premium waiver if in case I am diagnosed with a Heart or Cancer related condition?

Yes, when getting diagnosed with conditions under moderate category, there can be a serious impact on your savings as well as future earnings because of the severity and longer recovery time. To help you and your family, Exide Life Insurance pays your policy premiums for the next 5 years, in the event a claim is paid to you under a moderate category

8. How many times can I claim under this plan?

You can file an applicable claim till such time 100% of your chosen Sum Assured is paid to you. However, you can claim a mild condition only once under Plan Option A and twice under Plan Option B (one each from Heart and Cancer conditions).

9. In case I make a claim, will there be a revision in the premium amount?

Your premium amount will not be revised in the event you make a claim under the policy.

10. Will the premium that I am paying be revised at any point during the policy term?

Your premiums are guaranteed for 5 years from date of issuance. As mentioned earlier it will not change even if you have made a claim under this Policy. However, we may change the premiums based on our overall claims experience in the Product subject to approval from Insurance Regulatory And Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and will intimate you in advance in case of such revision.

11. What is the waiting period under this plan?

All health insurance policies come with a waiting period, which is basically the length of time after which the benefits from the health insurance policy will start. Under this policy, you will be required to wait for a period of 180 days from policy commencement date or reinstatement date, whichever is later before you apply for a claim.

12. What is the survival period under this plan?

Survival Period is the span of time for which a policyholder has to survive once the covered condition is diagnosed, in order to be eligible for claim payout. The survival period in case of Heart related conditions is 28 days from the date of diagnosis. In case of Cancer conditions, there is no survival period applicable.

13. How much cover can I get?

You can opt for sum assured between INR 5 Lac toINR 25 Lac as per your requirement.

14. Are there any age restrictions while applying for the plan?

Any individual between 18 yrs to 65 yrs (both ages inclusive) can apply for this plan.

15. Will I be eligible for any Income Tax benefits?

Yes, you can save tax for premiums paid towards Exide Life Sanjeevani u/s 80D.

16. Can I opt for Exide Life Sanjeevani if I have pre-existing Cardiac or Cancer conditions?

No, we do not issue policies for individuals who are have pre-existing Heart and Cancer patients.

17. Can I enroll my family under my Exide Life Sanjeevani plan?

Yes, you can purchase the policy for each member individually.

18. Can I increase my Sum Assured under Exide Life Sanjeevani at a later stage?

No, you cannot increase the coverage amount of your existing policy at a later stage. However, you can purchase another Exide Life Sanjeevani policy with combined Sum Assured not exceeding INR 25 Lacs.

19. Can a non-working spouse or housewife apply for Exide Life Sanjeevani?

Yes, this plan can be purchased by non – working spouse or a housewife on a case to case basis, with Sum Assured not exceeding INR 10 Lacs.

20. Is the premium different for male & female?

Yes, the premiums are different for male and female.

21. What Premium Payment Modes are allowed?

Only Annual premium payment mode is permitted in Exide Life Sanjeevani.

22. Is there any Life Insurance Cover or Maturity benefit under this plan?

Exide Life Sanjeevani, a fixed benefit health insurance plan, does not offer any life insurance cover or maturity benefit.
